This tripod has a great deal of potential. It really is incredibly light weight (that is why I purchased it), so it might be carried around on hikes with out becoming noticed too much. It truly is rapidly to set up, just unclip the elastic holders, hold it by the ballhead, and watch it snap into location. Viola! Easy as pie. I do like that. So cool! Even so, sturdiness is an issue. Actually, it's a bit flimsy. I read a lot of reviews on this, and this was the primary complaint, so I type of knew what I was finding, but nonetheless you've got hope that the reviewers had been getting a bit picky. Not so. They told it as it really is. For example, I put my Olympus E-520 having a 40-150 mm zoom on it (I'd say about two.6 lbs), tilted it 90 degrees to portrait, tightened the head as tight as it would go, but gravity soon pulled the lense and camera downward just a bit. The specs say it can hold up to 3 lbs., but I believe that is pushing the limits. Anyway, although attempting to readjust the camera to where I wanted it, the legs slid out on me. Awkward. There's some playing about with it. After which I stepped back a bit to take the shot of me and also the background, the wind blew a bit and I got nervous. It looks shakey. You absolutely want a flat surface along with the capability to fly quick as a way to catch it from toppling over in a sudden gust. I'm thinking of devising one thing to go about the legs to give them a bit a lot more sturdiness.
