Product Review
This is NOT a "heavy duty" tripod, nor is it for the critical creative amateur employing a video camera. The instructions enclosed said the tripod could withstand a camera up to 4lbs. 3oz., but when I utilised a video camera just under 4lbs., the leading assembly flopped over effortlessly and had to be tightened Extremely tightly using the handle grip, which then kept me from moving the camera vertically or at angles for the duration of throughout filming. So that you can move the head up and down throughout a shoot, the manage should be unscrewed many turns, and the whole upper assembly (and camera) jiggles constantly while doing this, thus ruining any attempts at smooth transitional shots, which in turn ruins the video. I don't know how this would be with a small ultra lightweight camera, though. Also I didn't like the way the little plastic piece attaches towards the bottom of the camera--it has to be screwed in and secured by using a coin. If 1 desires to set up or take down the equipment speedily, 1 as to rummage about for a nickel somewhere, after which hang onto it for later. This plate piece could have effortlessly been developed with a serrated knob (for traction) that could simply be turned by hand without having any hassle, like I've noticed on other far better models. Even so, this getting said, I gave it three stars instead of 2 or a 1, due to the fact the cost is quite good, the assembly head DOES move really smoothly horizontally, even using a heavy camera, and also the tripod is extremely lightweight and sturdy for its size. It's excellent for still cameras, and for limited lightweight video use. If I had to do it more than, I would not have purchased this tripod, but gotten a much more professional one for a higher cost. (Review More...)
