I use this tripod with my Canon EOS 40D having a 18-250mm lens. It could take far more weight if I decided to use a larger lens. This tripod is solid, dependable, easy to utilize, convenient to carry (excellent padding) and specifically what I necessary. I can't advise it adequate! I had a poor experience having a tripod that couldn't take the weight of my camera and ended up becoming worse than absolutely nothing. This Slik Pro 700DX is pretty solid and can take a fair amount of a beating (it was run over by accident in a parking lot and survived with only a couple of scratches!) It really is also uncomplicated and speedy to set up. I take it with me everywhere. If I had one criticism it really is which is could possibly be a bit heavy for many people. It is not a difficulty for me; I've taken it on a multi-hour hikes and it didn't bother me even following climbing uphill for several hours. And you can't beat the cost!
